Five Things At Work
  • We are rumored to be purchasing a golf cart to make it easier to get around the plant.  This is very exciting because I LOVE GOLF CARTS!

  • If I ever need any of the product we sell, I can get it for free!
Five Things At Home
  • Today is my youngest's FOURTH birthday.
  • I purchased a little round cake for her to take to school to share, it had sprinkles.  She was so EXCITED.
  • She sang "It's My Birthday and I have chocolate cake to share" on the trip to preschool.
  • Later on today I am going to let her help me make her birthday cake.  She wants five candles.
  • I took today off so I can spend as much time with her as possible.  I keep calling her my Birthday Girl.

Sunday Stealing: The Threesome MeMe

1. At what time of your life were you happiest and why?  My top four happiest moments are, when I married my husband and the birth of each of my children.  I think the "why" part is obvious.

2. Where and when did you meet the love of your life?  I happen to catch this really cute, blond guy walk by me carrying a ladder of his shoulder.  I swear it was love at first sight.

3. Favourite item of clothing ever or most treasured possession?  Wow, so many to choose.  I guess most treasured would have to be my laptop.

4. Must-have makeup or beauty item?  Black eyeliner.  Hands down.

5. What do you think is your worst vice or fault .. honestly?  Honestly?  Cleaning is.  I'm obsessed and it's not healthy.

6. Would you tell your friend, if you knew her husband/wife was cheating on her/him?  I totally would.

7. What ambitions, wishes or desires, for your life, do you still hold close to your heart?  I really would like to play the piano.

8. Where do you see yourself five years from now?  Hopefully in a different job.  ~waves to boss~

9. If you had the choice of any talent with the penalty that you would lose a talent in exchange, what would you want to gain, and what would you be willing to loose?  I would love to be able to dance.  Not funky dancing but actual ballroom dancing.  I think it's very romantic.  I don't know what I would be willing to loose to have that though ... can't I have it all?

10. Name three things that you do want completed in your life before retiring?  Get out of debt, Save some money and travel.

11. Of all of the people out there who would have been your fantasy date? Date, not romance...  Mmmmm my fantasy date years ago would have been Axl Rose.  But these days, I like Jason from True Blood.  He's wicked hot!

12. Google put another spell on you, you have just changed genders for 48 hours... what are you going to do with your 2 days?  Scratch my balls and pee standing up.

13. If you owned your own island, and got to make it your own country, what would you call it? And why?  I'd call it Hairy Gumball so people would stay away.

14. If you rubbed the lamp and got 3 wishes, what would they be?  Pay off my house, buy a summer house on the water someplace and vacation in Hawaii.

15. What is your earliest memory of puberty?  Taking a bath with my younger cousin and her commenting on my public hair ... what?

16. If you got banished to your Island alone and could only bring 5 things, what would they be?  Books, toothbrush, journal, pen and music.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Today's to-do list only consists of one thing. (this is an event that takes place once a year, in a subdivision and it's WAY COOL)

In The City

I am taking my oldest girl to the city today.  She has an appointment with her pediatric urologist.  We haven't seen this guy in FIVE years.  Which is awesome because it means she hasn't had any issues.

Until  now that is.  About a month ago, after a long day at the beach, we were sitting at a restaurant when she became very distressed.  When I asked her about it she confessed that she was unable to leave her chair without peeing her pants.

That's bad people.

Thankfully we went to this restaurant in two cars.  So I sent everyone on their way and my girl made a mad dash to the bathroom.  No luck.  She wet herself completely.  I happen to catch her reflection in the tile on the ladies room floor and let me tell you ... its heart breaking seeing your child sitting on the toilet crying quietly.

So I figured it was time to go and visit, which is today's plan.  We will have a nice leisurely train ride in, followed up with an ultrasound and then the big appointment.  I'm not expecting this to be bad.  I don't think there has been any sort of relapse.  I really just think, my daughter is being a teenager and not taking care of herself the way she should be.

And yes, I do hope the doctor tells it like it is because I really think she needs to hear it from him.

*edited to add:  Our appointment went just as I expected.  She is doing just fine, she has healed beautifully from her surgery.  He did talk to her about "self abuse" and that she needs to use the bathroom more frequently and drink way more water than she has been.  Yay!!

Reason #245 Why Monday's Are Evil

I woke up at 4:45 AM this morning.  My alarm goes off at 6 AM.  Do you think I was able to go back to sleep?  Do you think I was wide awake?  Do you think at 5:59 I finally drifted off?

If that wasn't annoying enough, we had to hire a plumber to replace our water heater that was leaking from the top, the side and the bottom.  To the tune of $950.

Money we don't have.

And it's a payroll day today, which just makes everything, EXTRA icky.

Sunday Stealing: The Sunday Stealing Players MeMe

1. :::sniff, sniff::: Is the dog in the house?  Yes, she is old and frequently does her business on the kitchen floor.  So "sniff, sniff" is right!

2. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?  That you have to let it go and move on.

3. What's the worst experience you've ever had involving alcohol?  Drinking Southern Comfort right out of the bottle (think guzzle), having sex on a dock with my boyfriend (who I kept asking if he was my boyfriend because if he wasn't then I was in BIG trouble), then walking home 5 miles in the dark, by myself and ending the evening puking all over my bed.  Nice eh?

4. What's the worst thing you've ever done to another person?  Talked bad, I think.

5. Who do you think started the concept of memes?  I don't know, but I like them.

6. Give a song title or line that describes how you are feeling right now.  Adam Lamberts "What Do You Want From Me."  It's my theme song for the year I think.

7. What's your favorite search engine? Yahoo!, Google, Ask, Bing? or something else?  Google or Bing.

8. If Paul is the Cute One and John is the Smart One and George is the Quiet One and Ringo is the Funny One, which Beatle are you?  Dude, I cannot stand the Beatles.

9. The democratic government decides that, not only do we have to share our money with people who choose not to work, we also have to share our children with those who do not want to ruin their bodies with being pregnant. Which child do you give up?  Ummm I leave the country because that's ridiculous.

10. When should you procrastinate - now or later?  Later.  I'm a doer.

11. What is your favorite fast food?  Wendy's Bacon & Bleu Burger.  Which, BTW, they are no longer carrying.  WTH?

12. What was your favorite game as a child?  Which, Witch is Which.  It involved a whammy ball and a haunted looking house.  I freaking loved that game.

13. Why terrible twos have to be terrible.  They really aren't.  It's THREES that are terrible.  Trust me on that one.

14. Describe your favorite family member.  My dad.  He puts up with a lot, he's super smart and makes jokes about everything.  I love him.

15. What does your favorite breakfast consist of?  Buttered grape jelly toast, bacon, scrambled eggs and homefries.

16. What food is better the day after it was made?  Homemade Mac & Cheese.

17. What was your last big purchase?  Our Flat Screen TV.

18. When was the last time you kissed someone and really enjoyed it?  My youngest, last night.  Wet kisses all over her face while she laughed.  It was awesome.

19. Why are there memes?  So that we all visit Judd's site.

20. Described yourself using two words that rhyme. (i.e. fuddy-duddy)  freaky deeky.

21. If you were given the option of a "do-over" in life .. would you take it?  Sometimes I want to say yes to that question, but really no.  Because I wouldn't be how I am today.

22. What movie makes (or has made) you cry? What touched you about it?  I have no idea.  It's been a long time since I've seen a sad movie.

23. What is one big mistake that you did in your life? And what did you do to make it right?  Have you seen my blog title?  No comment.

24. When Life Gives You Lemons, What Do You Do With Them?  Flavor my water with them.  I guess.

25. How different are you in real life as compared to the online identity you have created for yourself?  I'm pretty much the same.  I think.

26. Do you know what your parents would have named you if you had been born the opposite sex?  I have no idea.  They adopted me, so they knew they wanted a girl because they already had a boy.

In Honor Of Love Thursday

Things I am loving right now ...

.... my youngest's vocabulary.  She talks of things that are "lellow", plays with "hoop-a-lous" and asks what I am doing on the "puter".  I can't get enough of it!

.... the cooler temperatures.  Fall is a favorite season of mine and I am enjoying it immensely!

.... being caught up on my evening work.  Just in time for everything to pick up.

.... the smell of my new Yankee Candle.  (I can't remember the name of it and I'm too lazy to run down and look but trust me, it is the BOMB)

.... wearing a hoodie sweatshirt, capri pants and cute flip-flops.

Freshmeat*

I really love how smoothly the first day always goes.  The kids are up early.  Bags are packed and ready to go, clothing is new or relatively new, breakfast is served and we make it to drop off in record time (see "early" reference).

This might last for a bit and then all toooooo soon it will be the mad rush to get to out the door everyday.  Only to wait in the queue to get the kids to school over and over again, like that movie Groundhog Day.

I think my favorite part of the morning was the conversation I had with my youngest girl as all the kids rode in my jeep ...

"Could you be any cuter?"

"I am not cute, I'm SERIOUS."

"Hey you didn't say I'm not a 'puter, like you did the other day."

"Because I heard what you said, this time." ~giggles~

My youngest was ohsoexcited that her brother and sister are back in school.  She had the hardest time, this summer, wrapping her head around the fact that they got to stay home everyday and she still HAD to go to school.

I'm telling you guys, right here and right now, I'm doomed when she becomes a teen.  Doomed I tell you!

*What my oldest daughter, who is a Junior this year, was calling her brother instead of Freshman.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Why, I do declare!

You know already that Monday's are bad right?  Well how about the Tuesday after a long weekend?  That's bad too right?  And how about the Tuesday after a long weekend and a week's vacation?

Yeah, sucks.  Lots of paperwork to review and move off my desk.  20+ emails, voice mail too.

Then I came home to some "taxi" co-ordination as it was Freshman/Senior Buddy Night.  Where the Senior Class organizes and orientation for the Freshman.  And my daughter had to run the table for her Anime Club (they signed up six new kids!).  There was a complete school tour and pizza.  Course parents get to "Meet The Principal" too, something I planned to do until I found out I had to work.

Which I found annoying but got over.  Because getting paid trumps the new Principal, no matter how much I wanted the face time so that I could talk about my two PresHush BaHbees!!

Here is where I confess that my day wasn't THAT bad.  Yes I am behind and Yes I did have drive kids around and work my second job.

But for whatever reason .... today ... It didn't bother me, one bit.  Probably because tomorrow is the first day of school.  What do they say?  "Its the most wonderful time ... of the year?"

Sunday Stealing: The Majorly Personal MeMe, The Final

41. What are your plans for this weekend?  Catch up on work, paperwork, clean, laundry, the usual crapola.  I was hoping for a date night, maybe next weekend.....

42. Do you think someone might be thinking poorly about you? Why might that be?  I haven't done anything bad lately ... so hopefully no one.

42. What features don't you have that you would like on your cell?  I'd like Internet.

43. How many people can comfortably sleep in your bed?  Two and every once in a while we fit a kid in too.

44. What are you hoping happens by the end of 2010?  That we survive it ... WHAT?

45. What was the last video you watched on YouTube?  It has been the summer of YouTube here.  Which video would you like to discuss, I'm pretty sure we have seen them all ... ugh!

46. Would you ever agree to an open relationship with someone?  At the moment, no.  But in the future?  Who the heck knows.

47. Is there something that you could never give up?  Books.

48. Would you, (or did you) prefer a small, intimate wedding reception, or a big-scale, over-the-top reception?  My answer is ... I eloped and it was awesome!

49. What’s bothering you right now?  Everything but soon .... hopefully ... not-so-much.

50. Do you hate anyone?  I do not have time for hate.

51. What were you doing at 12 am last night?  I was watching Saturday Night Live.  NOT!

52. Was this summer a good one? How warm was it where you live?  Weatherwise it was decent.  We did have a couple of heat waves but that's normal for here.  I made it to the beach, which was so much fun.  Fall is next and I'm looking forward to it.

52. Is the last person you kissed before your current situation mad at you?  Not anymore.  I hope.

53. Can a man and woman be friends without having feelings for each other?  That one is tough.  I never really had any close guy friends that I didn't have feelings for.

54. Do you think long distance relationships work? If you’ve had one, tell us about it.  Never had one and I don't think they work.  (I am basing that solely on nothing.)

55. Do you know why it’s called “Random Boredom“?  I have no idea, but I FREAKING wish I was bored.  If anything I can't keep up!

56. Do you thing that it’s always the man’s responsibility to initiate sex?  No.  But I think 99% of the time they do.

57. Have you ever made love while you were in the same room with another couple?  Nope.  Too weird.

58. Tell us the best thing about your current or most recent S/O.  He makes me laugh, all the time.

59. Tell us the worst thing about your current or most recent S/O.  He is messy.

60. Would you write one question in today’s comments so that we could have our followers allow us to steal their questions? We’ll need at least 15.  Sure.  What is your favorite appetizer?

Declared P.J. Day

It's the last day of my "bacation" (it is wicked cute to hear my youngest day this word with such enthusiasm) and the only real plans I have is lunch around the corner.

I just got breakfast in bed.  Big surprise for me, I didn't even smell it cooking.  Watching some Ellen reruns (new season starts soon!) and then Let's Make a Deal.

Digging my Friday and looking forward to the long weekend.  Enjoy everyone.
